Keep Up The Good Spirts

Connacht Whiskey Tour

The Connacht Distillery sits on the banks of the beautiful River Moy where the river widens into the Moy Estuary in Ballina, County Mayo.

Here the company distills and barrel-ages the spirits in a rural, coastal environment unique to the West of Ireland.

In the distillery’s Mullarkey Bar guests can sample a range of spirits from whiskey, gin, poitín, and vodka.

You can sip your beverage and thank your lucky stars as your look over the beautiful River Moy.

Foraging Fun

The Killala Foraging Tours

As part of your trip why not meet Denis Quinn, local Wild Atlantic Way native based in Killala Bay, as you take a guided wild food foraging tour in one of the most scenic parts of the country.

Learn about the flora and fauna of the land the fruits of the sea – cockles, mussels, seaweed, roots, stems, herbs, shrimp, periwinkles. You can even take a trip by boat to the local Bartra Island – uninhabited apart from a colony of seals.

Foraging for cockles and mussels is Denis’ most popular activity, and the best part of all is getting to cook and eat the fruits of your labour later on.
